Funny old things, values. Firmly fixed and yet to underpin cultural transformation they must be fantastically flexible too.*
Values come from the heart. From the belly, even. Deep down, you know they're true. They're about belief, emotion, intuition .. they've got the feels.
And from that deep point of authentic connection, those values have to stretch and stretch and s-t-r-e-t-c-h to the furthest point possible. Because those of you who share values will find yourself having to meet their demands, live up to them, push yourselves with them - those beliefs that mean so much to you and from which you'd never break - to the point where you are stretched and stretched and s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d too.
Now, if you can use those deep-felt values to guide you towards real stretch, that's where you'll see extraordinary impact. Teams work together effectively, individuals leap forwards, brand reputations are sealed, organisations grow towards their goals. It's in the journey from guiding beliefs, through dedication, commitment and hard work, that the magic happens.
